SIAMS
The SIAMS process has been devised by the National Society to standardise inspection practices and judgements in all Church of England and Methodist Schools and to meet the requirements of Section 48 of the Education Act 2005
Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS)
SIAMS/S48 judges the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a Church of England school and aims to help schools improve as church schools
The main focus is in the outcomes, i.e. the impact of provision rather than the provision itself
There are four key questions:
- How well does the school, through its distinctive Christian character, meet the needs of all learners?
- What is the impact of collective worship on the school community?
- How effective is the religious education?
- How effective are the leadership and management of the school as a church school
Reculver Church of England Primary School had it's last SIAMS Inspection in January 2020 and we are delighted to say that we were the first school in the Canterbury Diocese to achieve the new top grading - an excellent church school.
