Sea Turtles (Year 3/4) Mrs Wills / Mrs Kirby
We have a busy and exciting year ahead with many interesting texts and topics to cover.
Please do not hesitate to come and see us if you have any concerns at all about your child’s progress or happiness at school. Appointments can always be made at the beginning or end of the school day.
Homework will be set on a Friday and due in on the following Wednesday. It will follow a traditional route of English and Maths homework which will either reinforce what they have done in class or prep them for what we will be doing the following week. It is likely that a lot of the Maths homework will be set on the Mathletics website. If you have any questions about this, please see a member of the Lower Key Stage Two Team. The children will also be completing daily times table tests. They will know which times table they are on so they can practice them at home. Please encourage your child to use Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS) – it really is a great way for children to learn their tables. If you have any difficulties logging, please let us know.
Children are actively encouraged to research the topic that we are studying and complete any topic-related activities, such as a piece of art or a Powerpoint presentation, at home if they wish to.
We would like your children to read four times a week at home. When your child finishes their book they will be able to take a quiz in school, the results of which will indicate what level of book they will choose next. Please let us know who you feel your child’s reading is coming along, and any problems, using their yellow home contact book.
If you have any queries, please feel free to approach either Miss Wills (Monday-Wednesday) or Mrs Kirby (Thursday and Friday) at the end of the day on the school playground. You can also contact us via the school office by telephone.
We look forward to meeting you all and are excited for the year ahead with Sea Turtle Class.
