Celebrating sporting achievement outside of school

Elite Sporting Achievement

Jack in year 6 has been selected to represent the District a Football Team.  Well done from everybody at Reculver Jack. We are very proud of you.

"I attended a trial to represent Reculver School for Canterbury District. I recall it being a torrentially wet Saturday afternoon just after my birthday. As a result of that I wore my latest football kit in hope to stand out. I did and got selected out of over 70 children to form a 13-man district squad.

We play in the Kent Schools FA Primary Premiership.

On Saturday 24th September Simon Langton Grammar School held a Primary District Festival, inviting all teams.

The week after, we thrashed Ashford 7-2 at home, me scoring.

Our next game was a frustrating 2-1 loss against Thanet despite being on top of the game. Again I got our goal.

Joy soon was in the changing room as we beat Deal and Dover 4-2 away, me scoring two.

Unfortunately, we suffered a poor 3-2 defeat at home and I finished our only goals of the game.

The following two games we lost both conceding 7 overall losing 3-0 against Gravesham and 4-0 against BSA.

Now the week after, we, 4th in the table, play Medway, top of the table. After an end to end game and us controlling the second half we followed up my joyous bullet-like header to give us a lifeline at halftime and it only being 3-1. At which point in time, we believed. And believing even more when Archie Hatcher, a Gillingham Forward struck the ball home with his weaker lest foot into the top corner. With ten minutes to go, Louie Muddiman volleyed the ball from close range into the bottom corner to please us with a 3-3 drew away from home.
